The Spanish wine scene has never been more exciting, and this is a great opportunity to find out what's going on around Spain, without leaving San Sebastian. Our wine expert, Andrew Halliwell, has made wine across Spain and on five different continents and brings, along with a wealth of experience, his unparalleled enthusiasm to these fun but informative tastings. Ask as many questions as you like, or just sit back and enjoy the 8 different wines, served in Riedel glasses, accompanied with tasting notes, Andrew's mini-guide to each wine region, breadsticks and mineral water.

Wine is such fun, it's a shame that so many people find it intimidating. But where do you start? There just seems to be so much to learn, so many wines, so many different countries, different grapes and so on. And so many questions, "What is American oak?", "Why does this Chardonnay taste like pears and this one like vanilla?" and the classic "Will it go with the fish?" Part 1 of this course is designed for complete beginners. We will explain what wine is and how it is made. We will also explain how to taste wine and how to evaluate it in a fun and informal way. There will also be plenty of time for questions, the more questions the better!
