As its nearly Christmas, we would like to share some of our pintxos recipe cards with you, perfect for a pre-Christmas party!  We've selected three classic pintxos whch everyone loves combining simple yet delicious flavours. 

Your Recipes to try out this Christmas!

The Gilda - San Sebastian most famous pintxo!  The classic conbination of anchovy, guindilla green pepper and olive go so well together  Named after Rita Hayworth in the film Gilda, this sexy pintxo is sure to make your party sizzle! 

Gamba con Huevo - A simple combination of prawn and egg is hard to beat.  You will find almost all the traditional pintxos bars in San Sebastian adorn this delicious, satisfying and visually appealing pintxo.

Gambas Ajillo - Another prawn dish but this ones hot and packed with rich flavours of garlic, olive oil and a hint of brandy. Finished off with a dusting of freshly chopped parsely, there is nothing as appealing or tasty as a plate of these to share amongst friends. 

2012 program of cooking classes and courses

Our fantastic cooking classes have now finished for 2011!  Our hard working chef Alex Barenilla and sous-chef Turlough Quinn are taking much needed holidays and will return in January ready for a year packed full of cooking classes, visits to the market and Alex's gastronomic society.

We have our Basque 3-day cooking courses running on the following dates:

  • 26th January, 29th March, 10th May, 14th June, 6th September, 27th September, 18th October, 15th November 2012

We give every client who attends a class access to our full collection of recipe cards.  In 2012, we'll be officially launching beautifully printed cards for every guest.  And, if all goes well, by mid-March we will be well on the way to our first mini-cookbook! 

For the time being though, we hope you enjoy this small selection of recipes, ideal for Christmas parties.
