Squaremeal magazine on pintxo tasting with San Sebastian Food “its heaven” reports Nicky Evans

"Could this be the ultimate weekend destination for those who make food the focus of their holiday?" Nicky Evans meets up with San Sebastian Food during her stay in Spain's gastronomic capital.

We are truly delighted to have been featured in Squaremeal, London & the UK's Independent Guide to the Best Restaurants.  The article entitled "Greed is Good" talks of San Sebastian as "a gastronomic powerhouse, boasting more Michelin stars per square metre than anywhere in the world."

A significant mention is made to San Sebastian Food.  Journalist Nicky Evans interviewed founder Jon Warren during her stay and comments that he "spotted a gap in the market on a visit to San Sebastian and set up a tasting studio.  Warren launched San Sebastian Food five years ago, and its most popular offering remains its pintxo-tasting tours."

Evans hugely enjoyed our pintxo tasting tour during her visit and recalls it in her piece mentioning one of our top culinary guides:

"San Sebastian native Eli Susperregui leads groups of food lovers from one packed bar to another, ordering for them, from fresh mussels in rough and ready La Mejillonera, to El Bulli-inspired small plates, such as raw cod served over burning charcoal with a chaser of intensely flavoured liquefied lettuce".

Evans further recalls, "its heaven".
