WHAT THEY SAID
" We booked 3 activities over last weekend. Starting with Pintxo Tasting Tour on Friday evening, great introduction to the city. On the Saturday, we were entertained to a passionate demonstration of local culinary skills. In the evening we enjoyed wine tasting at the San Sebastian Food's shop in the Old Town. To get the absolute most out of a weekend break in a city we didn't know - it was ideal. "

" When I decided to add the Basque Country to my culinary tours, I came up with San Sebastian Food's website. The site looks exactly as they are - good looking, professional, fun and knowledgeable. We couldn't have had such a successful tour without Jon. When New Zealanders come this far to eat pintxos, they have to be sure everything will be perfect. And it was. "

" My friend and I went on the Pintxo tasting tour with Lourdes and had the most wonderful time. Lourdes' warm personality, and knowledge and love of the city made the experience truly memorable. Given the incredible amount of variety, it's often hard as a visitor to know which bars to go to and what to order. I would unhesitatingly recommend this tour to any visitor to San Sebastian. "

" We did the half day cooking class. It was sensational...great chefs, great guide, great company AND we got to eat the great pintxos we had helped prepare. A winner all round from a very professional operation. "

" Simply put, sensational! We did the Basque Cooking Class and had an absolutely fantastic day. Even though the tour is only a few hours, it is very hands on, we learnt a HEAP and had a great experience. Do yourself a favour and book with San Sebastian Food! We booked by chance and we are so glad we did. We will definintely be back!! "

" Chef Alex and his team showed us the ins and outs of cooking a seafood feast with the fresh catch of the day. I learned to clean and prepare squid, and my wife cut up an entire tuna! We also worked on hake, a local fish that is popular in Spain. Afterwards we were able to enjoy the fruits of our labour with another great multi-course lunch! "

" The food I got to sample on this tour was some of the best I had on my three-week trip to Spain. Elli and Lourdes are very warm, friendly women who made each member of the group feel comfortable and welcome. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that was well worth the fee. I highly recommend taking this tour the next time you are in San Sebastian! "

" This was one of the best experiences I've ever had on a vacation, not just my favorite cooking class!I had fun, learned ,and was very impressed by this organization. Why should you listen to me? Because I've been a producer for 30 years and put people and things together in a very tasteful and organized way for a living. San Sebastian Food has it all together...they really get it right! "

" At first I did think it was a little high, however, after the first spot I knew it was the best thing ever to do as a visitor to San Sebastian, and well worth the price. It was a great mix of traditional vs modern and our guide was A+++ "

" The pintxos tour at night was a great way to learn how these tapas bars work, as they can be a little overwhelming. Our favorite was "Zeruko", the food was amazing, defineately not for the faint hearted!! We met a great bunch of people, and when you taste all these great foods you just can't keep your opinions to yourself. I highly recommend these tours with the San sebastian food company...ENJOY! "

" We went on an all day Rioja Country wine tour with Jenny Sidall. It was an outstanding and very enjoyable day as Jenny's a Master's level wine expert with an unrivaled knowledge of Rioja. She's a marvelous guide and a very gracious host and my family and I highly recommend San Sebastian Food and Jenny to all planning a visit to San Sebastian. "

" Wow!! My tummy is in heaven! Speaking as a foodie/writer, this was a home run-out-of-the-ballpark! I ran out of descriptive words beyond exquisita, superfantástico, awesome... "

" There are so many bars in the old town that it's very difficult to know where to start which is where Jon and his tour comes in. Not only were we taken to some great places but we also learnt things about the pintxo tradition and the customs of this part of Spain that we couldn't have got from anywhere else. My advice to anyone on a visit to San Sebastian would be to book the tour. "

Our tour was given by Lourdes, who is great company. Lovely lively honest and down to earth commentary and good conversation. We visited a number of very interesting places with great Pintxos and good wine. It's not cheap, but I can recommend unreservedly.

I was part of a 26 strong group that toured the City with members of Jon's team. The organisation, professionalism and passion shone through. I could not praise the experience highly enough!

The guide, Lourdes, was fluent in english and knowledgable about the history of San Sebastian. She knew the best places to taste the wonderful food and which Pinxtos bar specialised in which foods - and the best wines to couple them with ! A great orientation for us-we re-visited many of them the next night. It really helped us appreciate just what a lovely place the old town of San Sebastian is.

By taking this tour on our first day, we had much more confidence ordering at the bars and our next few evenings on our own were 1000 times better because of it. The tour with Lourdes was fun with a wide variety of food and wine. She took care to match the food and wine and to find us the best pintxos in the bars that day. Well worth it!

A guided tour over two days was arranged for a group of eight of us from the UK. We were delighted with the service and Jenny Siddall was very professional and knew a vast amount about her subject, the production of Rioja wines. We had a varied itinerary, visited a number of wine makers, had a comfortable hotel and were introduced to a number of excellent restaurants.
